Basketball Recap: Hampton Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Hampton won the last time they faced Phoebus and Joshua Rice did his part to make sure it happened again. The Crabbers put the hurt on the Phantoms with a sharp 57-35 win on Thursday with plenty of help from Rice, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards. He has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 40% every time he's hit the court this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Hampton and bumps their season record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Phoebus, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Hampton will take on Manor in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Phoebus, they will venture away from home to face off against Norcom at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Phantoms will be up against the Greyhounds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.14 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
