Greater New Bedford RVT came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Fairhaven, but Braley Boucher wouldn't allow it. The Blue Devils had just enough and edged out the Bears 3-2 for which the team can thank Boucher, who had 14 digs and six aces. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more aces the last four times she's played.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Fairhaven got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 19-25, 26-24, 15-25, 15-9.
Aubrey Sweeney and Brenna Dugan were among the main playmakers for Fairhaven as the former had 19 assists and four digs and the latter had nine kills, eight digs, five aces, and one block. That's the most digs Dugan has posted since back in September of 2024. Audrina Raposa also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Fairhaven was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West Bridgewater took on Case on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Cardinals.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-10.
Fairhaven's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for West Bridgewater, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-4.
Fairhaven took their win against West Bridgewater in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
