Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Trinity Lutheran

There's no place like home for Trinity Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rising Sun Shiners by a score of 7-3 on Tuesday. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Shiners, too.

Drake Goodpaster and Bode Brooks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Goodpaster pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Brooks struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). At the plate, Goodpaster went 2-for-3 with one RBI, while Brooks scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Nathan Finke was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Trinity Lutheran's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Trinity Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 win against Crothersville on the 10th. As for Rising Sun, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Oldenburg Academy on the 10th.
