Softball Recap: Central Academy Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Central Academy faced off against Piedmont on Thursday. The Cougars lost 16-5 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

Katelyn Easterly made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Central Academy now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Piedmont, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Coming up, Central Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piedmont, they have already played their next matchup, a 6-4 defeat against Alexander Central on the 5th.
