Basketball Recap: Continental Comes Up Short

Continental and Miller City squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Continental had to settle for second. They were dealt a 54-17 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Continental still got an impressive performance from Olivia Crossgrove, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 58.8% of the Pirates' points, marking the third time in a row Crossgrove has put up more than a third of the team's points.

Continental's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Miller City, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-2.

Continental does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miller City, they will head out to challenge McComb at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
