Basketball Recap: Abbott Gets the Win

Abbott lost to Bynum back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Abbott Panthers walked away with a 44-37 win over the Bynum Bulldogs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brooklyn Compean, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Compean a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Westmoreland, who put up 13 boards, seven blocks, and six steals.

The victory got Abbott back to even at 2-2. As for Bynum, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Abbott didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-33 defeat against Bynum on the 14th. As for Bynum, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-17 win against Kopperl on the 14th.
