Basketball Recap: Raton Takes a Loss

Raton was the 64-61 winner over Clayton when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Raton Tigers took a hard 57-40 fall against the Clayton Yellowjackets on Saturday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Raton still got an impressive performance from Chase Walton, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and four blocks. The dominant performance also gave Walton a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Anaya, who earned six points.

Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Clayton, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Raton will venture away from home to take on Trinidad at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Raton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for Clayton, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pecos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
