Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Wins Going Away Against Desert Oasis

Shadow Ridge lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Desert Oasis, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Mustangs blew past the Diamondbacks 11-5 on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

Skyler Fife looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Evan Noble and Kyson Rollo did most of the damage at the plate: Noble got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Rollo went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Noble has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anthony Montesanti, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Shadow Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Shadow Ridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-14. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Oasis, their loss dropped their record down to 19-12.

Looking ahead, Shadow Ridge will face off against Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Firehawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.35 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Desert Oasis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
