Baseball Recap: Tustin Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Tustin's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Crean Lutheran Saints on Wednesday. The Tillers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it nine in a row.

Tustin got a good showing from Andrew Lechuga, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Tustin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Saltzer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Tustin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1. As for Crean Lutheran, they moved to 12-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Tustin will be playing in front of their home fans against Laguna Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Crean Lutheran, they will head out on the road to challenge Pacifica at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mariners' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Saints' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
