Baseball Recap: Tampa Prep Triumphs

Tampa Prep owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons, sneaking past 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Terrapins.

Not much got past Tyler Kin, who gave up just seven hits to keep St. Petersburg Catholic off the board. Kin also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tampa Prep is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Tampa Prep secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Luc Thornton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Tampa Prep's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-11. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Tampa Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-4 loss against Cambridge Christian on the 26th. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-7 victory against IMG Academy Teal on the 27th.
