Softball Recap: Christian's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Christian can now relate to. They fell just short of the Eastlake Titans by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Ava Barrios was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ashley Wood and Keels Carrizosa did some serious damage despite the final result: Wood got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one double, while Carrizosa got on base in three of her six plate appearances with one home run. Lucy Sherburne was another key player, going 1-for-5 with one stolen base and one double.

Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-9-1. As for Eastlake, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-11-1.

As of now, neither Christian nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
