Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's Academy Blues vs. West Linn Lions

St. Mary's Academy is 0-10 against West Linn since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The St. Mary's Academy Blues will face off against the West Linn Lions at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

St. Mary's Academy lost 52-26 to Lake Oswego on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Blues can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Lakers are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, West Linn suffered their biggest loss since December 29, 2023 on Tuesday. They came up short against Tualatin, falling 55-30. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Lions' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for West Linn, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-7.

St. Mary's Academy was dealt a bruising 79-5 defeat at the hands of West Linn when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of West Linn's Reese Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals.
