Basketball Game Preview: Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets vs. Victor Blue Devils

Rush-Henrietta hasn't had much luck against Victor recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets will be playing at home against the Victor Blue Devils at 7:15 p.m. Rush-Henrietta is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Friday, Rush-Henrietta earned a 59-52 win over Webster Thomas. Given the Royal Comets' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Titans are ranked 67th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Avery Council was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 15 en route to 29 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jalen Taggart, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Victor might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 56-52 to Webster Thomas, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rush-Henrietta pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Victor, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Rush-Henrietta beat Victor 64-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Rush-Henrietta repeat their success, or does Victor have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
