Football Game Preview: Elkmont Red Devils vs. Colbert County Indians + Official Tickets

Elkmont is 0-5 against Colbert County since September of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Red Devils will host the Indians at 7:00 p.m. Elkmont has given up an average of 50.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Elkmont is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 47 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Mars Hill Bible on Friday. They took a blow against the Panthers, falling 56-7. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while the Panthers are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colbert County). They blew past Clements 62-22 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won seven in a row.

Elkmont better keep an eye on Coyrian Campbell. He was instrumental in Colbert County's win, rushing for 55 yards and one TD, while also picking up 52 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Colbert County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 249 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 193 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Colbert County's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Elkmont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Elkmont was dealt a bruising 61-16 defeat at the hands of Colbert County when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Red Devils were down 48-0.
