Softball Recap: Richton Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Richton finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 13-1 to the Mize Bulldogs. The Rebels have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Kailyn Ely was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Richton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Mize, their win bumped their record up to 11-7.

While Richton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
