Baseball Recap: Cedar Crest Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cedar Crest's offense. They came up short against the Hempfield Black Knights on Wednesday, falling 12-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Cedar Crest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Hempfield, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 13-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cedar Crest will head out to challenge Twin Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hempfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Governor Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Black Knights 3.4, the Mustangs 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
