Volleyball Game Preview: Stoneham Spartans vs. Winthrop Vikings

The Stoneham Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Winthrop Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Stoneham came up short against Melrose on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Winthrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Salem.

While Winthrop was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-10, 25-22.

Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Stoneham, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
