Preview: Turlock Bulldogs vs. Downey Knights
Turlock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Downey Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Turlock and Downey are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Wednesday, Turlock lost to Pitman at home by a decisive 59-43 margin.
Downey posted their biggest win yet this season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Modesto with a sharp 74-54 win.
Jayden Coelho was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with six assists and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Downey's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Eden, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Turlock now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Downey, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.
Turlock couldn't quite finish off Downey in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 57-54. Thankfully for Turlock, Lloyd French (who scored 30 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
