Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Takes a Loss

Pompano Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 68-34 defeat at the hands of the Taravella Trojans. The matchup marked the Golden Tornadoes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Taravella was led to victory by Nick Florea and Jordan Arriaga. Florea went 6 of 7 on his way to 16 points and five steals, while Arriaga posted 18 points and seven assists. That's the most points Arriaga has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Shorter, who put up nine points and four steals.

Pompano Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Taravella, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6.

Pompano Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-40 win against Monarch on the 8th. As for Taravella, they will take on Sports Leadership & Management at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
