Softball Recap: Richland County Tigers vs. Marshall Lions

Richland County had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 7-6 to make it four. They lost 8-2 to the Marshall Lions. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 9-5 to the Lions when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Richland County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Bloomer, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for Marshall, their record is now 15-6. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Looking ahead, Richland County will challenge Mattoon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marshall, they will face off against Westville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 11.7 runs per game this season.
