Baseball Recap: Whites Creek Takes a Loss

If Whites Creek was riding high fresh off their 13-6 takedown of Pearl-Cohn last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Whites Creek lost 11-1 to the Cane Ridge Ravens on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Cobras in their meetings with the Ravens: they've now lost four in a row.

Whites Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ivorie Lee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two hits gave Lee a new career-high.

Whites Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Cane Ridge, they moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Whites Creek will head out to square off against Hampshire at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cane Ridge, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Cane Ridge Ravens duke it out with Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ezell-Harding Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Cane Ridge surely won't give up without a fight.
