Basketball Game Preview: South Cobb Eagles vs. Hillgrove Hawks

Back in December of 2024, South Cobb came up short against Harrison and fell 33-24. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Hoyas are ranked 46th).

Despite the defeat, South Cobb saw an underclassman step up: freshman Stephanie Aguirre posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimora Starling, who had six points.

Meanwhile, Hillgrove earned a 60-47 victory over Rolesville on Saturday.

Hillgrove is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for South Cobb, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
