Volleyball Recap: Mourning Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mourning needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Juan Clavijo. The Sharks were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jackson Generals on Tuesday for which the team can thank Clavijo, who had 23 digs and four aces. Clavijo is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Mourning walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-5.

Mourning found their leader in sophomore Clavijo, who had 23 digs and four aces. Lucas Castro also set a new season-high mark in hitting percentage with 72.7%.

Mourning was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since the start of last season.

Mourning's record is now 3-8. As for Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Mourning didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against TERRA Environmental on the 2nd. Jackson has also already played their next match (against MAST Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
