Soccer Game Preview: El Paso vs. Andress

El Paso is 2-8 against Andress since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The El Paso Tigers will head out to square off against the Andress Eagles at 7:30 p.m. El Paso is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.

El Paso will bounce into Friday's match after beating Chapin, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. El Paso came out on top in a nail-biter against Chapin on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Huskies are ranked 482nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mateo Ocaranza and Arieth Salcido scored all three of El Paso's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Andress kept a clean sheet against Canutillo on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Eagles.

The victory made it two in a row for El Paso and bumps their season record up to 7-1-1. As for Andress, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

El Paso came up short against Andress in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 2-0. Can El Paso avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
