Baseball Game Preview: North Branch Broncos vs. Standish-Sterling Panthers

The North Branch Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Standish-Sterling Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. North Branch's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Standish-Sterling's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

North Branch's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Algonac. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

The result came thanks to Jaydon Hutchinson's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, Andrew Jerome was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Standish-Sterling faced Shepherd in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Bluejays by a score of 8-5. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

North Branch's victory bumped their record up to 5-2-1. As for Standish-Sterling, they pushed their record up to 13-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
