Basketball Recap: St. David's Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

St. David's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They skirted past the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs 34-32. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. David's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eliza Everett, who posted five points along with eight boards and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Holmes, who had ten points.

St. David's has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points per game. As for Wake Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coincidentally, St. David's and Wake Christian Academy will both be playing Trinity Academy the next time they take the court. St. David's will host Trinity Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Wake Christian Academy will head out to face them at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
