Carlinville not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 28th (when they won 7-0). Everything went their way against the Jacksonville Crimsons as they made off with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Hallie Gibson, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Jacksonville off the board. Gibson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Gibson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Tiburzi, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Carlinville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
