Football Recap: East Davidson Comes Up Short + How To Watch

East Davidson extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-9. They were dealt a 49-10 loss at the hands of the West Davidson Dragons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 49-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why East Davidson lost, don't look at Landon Hollar. Despite the final result, he rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries.

As for West Davidson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Carson Correll was his usual excellent self, rushing for 157 yards and three scores on only ten carries, while also throwing for 101 yards and a pair of TDs. He is becoming a predictor of West Davidson's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Ethan McClosky was Correll's top target, picking up 45 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 89 yards and one TD.

East Davidson and West Davidson are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Golden Eagles will head out on the road to square off against Hendersonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Davidson, they will welcome Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
