Basketball Recap: Newman Central Catholic Skates Past Putnam County with Ease

There's no place like home for Newman Central Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Putnam County Panthers 72-44. The Comets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Newman Central Catholic now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Putnam County, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-26.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newman Central Catholic will head out to face off against Kewanee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Putnam County, they will face off against Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
