Baseball Recap: King City Comes Up Short

Albany hit King City with a four-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildkats lost 9-1 to the Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildkats of the 20-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

King City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graham Medsker, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. The Wildkats are 2-1 when Medsker posts one or more home runs, but 5-7 otherwise.

King City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Albany, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

King City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-0 win against North Nodaway on the 29th. As for Albany, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-1 victory against Union Star on the 28th.
