Basketball Recap: Lincoln North Star Drops Season-High Score on Omaha Northwest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln North Star). They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Omaha Northwest Huskies 72-20. The Navigators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Kendall Anderson was nothing short of spectacular: she went 5-for-6 on her way to 15 points in addition to six assists and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ani Leu, who shot 60% from the field en route to 12 points and five assists.

Lincoln North Star smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Northwest only three offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Omaha Northwest lost, don't look at Jessica Houston. Despite the final result, she posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. What's more, Houston also posted a 50% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Abriya Watkins was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

The win made it two in a row for Lincoln North Star and bumps their season record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points on average over those games. As for Omaha Northwest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Lincoln North Star has already played their next contest, a 48-25 victory against Marian on the 28th. Omaha Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
