Volleyball Recap: Air Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Air Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Coronado Cougars on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Kadets have beaten the Cougars on their court since November 3, 2018.

Air Academy never let Coronado on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 26-24, 25-15.

Air Academy's offense was headlined by Camillia Caldwell and Elly Siebert, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Jiselle Rodriquez and her 13 assists. Audrey Husemann controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Air Academy will venture away from home to challenge Pueblo West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Coronado, they will head out to square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
