St. Rita extended their postseason success on Saturday against Hersey. They strolled past the Huskies with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

St. Rita's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Steven Armbruster, who threw for 261 yards and three TDs while completing 90% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Armbruster a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). St. Rita's leading receiver Walter Jones was Armbruster's top target yet again, picking up 196 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Rita was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Jenkins, who picked up 163 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 154 yards and two TDs. Jenkins showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 67 yards. Another player making a difference was Jake Nawrot, who threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

St. Rita is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.4 points over those games. As for Hersey, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.

St. Rita has already played their next matchup, a 54-34 victory against Batavia on the 22nd. Hersey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
