Softball Recap: Chaminade-Madonna Find Success

After only one run in their last matchup, Chaminade-Madonna made sure to put some runs up on the board against McArthur on Friday. The Chaminade-Madonna Lions were the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over the McArthur Mustangs. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chaminade-Madonna let Janyce Leach and Isabel Blanco run wild. Leach scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Blanco scored four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Blanco a new career-high in runs. Raegan Tortorici was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Chaminade-Madonna's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for McArthur, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Chaminade-Madonna will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Pompano Beach at 3:30 p.m. As for McArthur, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Flanagan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
