Football Game Preview: Lancaster Red Devils vs. Essex Trojans + How To Watch

Lancaster hasn't had much luck against Essex recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Devils will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Lancaster has given up an average of 26.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lancaster is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Rappahannock on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Red Devils were dealt a 48-13 loss at the hands of the Raiders. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Meanwhile, Essex strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Colonial Beach 47-0. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Drifters are ranked 322nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Essex had a senior duo take command as Xzayviia Bundy rushed for 76 yards and three TDs and Jaden Holmes rushed for 61 yards and a pair of scores.

Essex didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Colonial Beach to a completion percentage of just 29.4%. The Trojans weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 100%.

Essex's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Lancaster, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
