Volleyball Recap: West Ranch Falls Short Against Ranked Torrey Pines

West Ranch faced Torrey Pines in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 2-0 to the Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Friday.

Devyn Kobe paced West Ranch's offense, picking up ten kills. Kobe got some help from Dani Clewis and her 18 assists. Finally, Clewis was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

West Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Torrey Pines, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 28-4.

West Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Hamilton on the 11th. As for Torrey Pines, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Cathedral Catholic on the 11th.
