Williams gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Kingman Academy Tigers 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Jace Maebe was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tytus Hollenbeck, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
Williams always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .600 that Kingman Academy posted.
Kingman Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
