Basketball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

If Everett was riding high fresh off their 63-36 takedown of Southern Fulton last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Everett Warriors lost 79-59 to the McConnellsburg Spartans on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

McConnellsburg found their leader in sophomore Hoyt Glenn, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Glenn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shaffer Earley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Everett's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for McConnellsburg, the victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Everett will venture away from home to take on Meyersdale at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for McConnellsburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Southern Fulton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
