Baseball Recap: Ash Fork/Seligman Takes a Loss

If Ash Fork/Seligman was feeling good fresh off their 23-1 takedown of Maryvale Prep last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans came up short against the Superior Panthers on Thursday, falling 13-3. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

John Cauthen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Ash Fork/Seligman has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Superior, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Ash Fork/Seligman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-5 loss against Alchesay on the 11th. As for Superior, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-5 defeat against Globe on the 11th.
