Football Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

Windham extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were beaten by the Ledyard Colonels 53-13. The Whippets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colonels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Windham still got an impressive performance from Kevon Roberts, who rushed for 98 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Roberts also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making one tackle (1.0 for loss).

As for Ledyard, their record now sits at 4-2. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Jackson Favry was his usual excellent self, rushing for 49 yards and one score, while also throwing for 43 yards and one TD.

Windham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 40-0 loss against New London on the 31st. As for Ledyard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 46-7 win against East Lyme on the 30th.
