Soccer Game Preview: Mallard Creek vs. West Cabarrus + How To Watch

The Mallard Creek Mavericks will face off against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mallard Creek has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while West Cabarrus will come in with 16 straight victories.

Mallard Creek managed to keep up with North Mecklenburg until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Mavericks lost 3-0 to the Vikings.

Meanwhile, West Cabarrus' game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Olympic, sneaking past 2-1. Given West Cabarrus' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Olympic are ranked 136th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Cabarrus' win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Mallard Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Mallard Creek might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from West Cabarrus when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
