Recap: Lamar Texans vs. Chavez Lobos
The Lamar Texans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 81-0 win over Chavez at home. Fans of Lamar have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Lamar was led to victory by Chaseston Guidry and Justin Howard. Guidry rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while Howard gained 138 total yards and three touchdowns. Guidry was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Reaves, who threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Lamar's win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49 points. As for Chavez, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Coincidentally, Lamar and Chavez will both be playing Bellaire the next time they take the field. Chavez will host Bellaire at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Lamar will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on November 2nd.
