Basketball Recap: Hutchinson Garmany's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dade County over Fannin County

If Dade County was feeling good fresh off their 78-21 takedown of Dalton Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dade County Wolverines took a hard 65-49 fall against the Fannin County Rebels on Monday. While the Wolverines didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rebels 14-9 in the first quarter.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hutchinson Garmany, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Garmany a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Bryson Shrader, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Dade County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Dade County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Fannin County, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Dade County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-56 defeat against Chattooga on the 4th. As for Fannin County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-60 loss against Christian Heritage on the 7th.
