Jujuan Nettles commands the offense for Tigers win

Recap: Moss Point Tigers vs. Greene County Wildcats

The Moss Point Tigers waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 49-39 victory over Greene County. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 20% better than the opposition, as Moss Point's was.

Moss Point got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jujuan Nettles out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Quey'sean Taylor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Greene County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jase Matthews, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Brycen Johnson who scored six points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Johnson also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Tylan Blackston, who scored five points along with five rebounds.

Moss Point has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Greene County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moss Point will square off against the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pascagoula will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. As for Greene County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Poplarville comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
