Baseball Recap: Lake Mary Prep Comes Up Short

Lake Mary Prep was the 9-4 winner over Lake Buena Vista when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Griffins fell just short of the Vipers by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Jeff Fox and Liam Morrisey stepped up to the plate in a big way. Fox went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Morrisey went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Landon Trauger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Lake Mary Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Lake Buena Vista, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-17.

Looking ahead, Lake Mary Prep will head out to square off against Trinity Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will take on Auburndale at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
