Football Game Preview: South Newton Rebels vs. Faith Christian Eagles

The South Newton Rebels will venture away from home to square off against the Faith Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Newton will be strutting in after a victory while Faith Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

South Newton will bounce into Friday's contest after beating North White, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Rebels skirted past the Vikings 16-14.

A big part of South Newton's win came down to the chemistry between Lyle Harrington and his top target RJ Buckley. Harrington threw for 119 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 passes while Buckley rushed for 57 yards.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against West Central, falling 72-14. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-0.

South Newton picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Faith Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
