Basketball Recap: Wright Comes Up Short

Wright was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-40 bruising from the Sundance Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-46 back in January.

Despite the loss, Wright still got an impressive performance from Briana Meza, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Meza has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anaeli Salas, who posted 11 points.

Jaylin Mills was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Sundance. Jude Crago also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Wright's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Sundance, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-7.

Coming up, Wright will take on Big Horn at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sundance, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tongue River at 2:30 p.m. on February 22nd.
