Basketball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland and Rice Lake squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lakeland had to settle for second. They came up short against the Rice Lake Warriors, falling 78-56. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Warriors are ranked 98th).

This is the second loss in a row for Lakeland and nudges their season record down to 10-15-1. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Rice Lake, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.

Lakeland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rice Lake has already played their next game (against Rhinelander), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
