Baseball Recap: Orestimba Takes a Loss

Orestimba extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-21 in the process. They lost 17-4 to the Ripon Christian Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Wednesday.

Orestimba saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ray Montes, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Donovan Torres, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

As for Ripon Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Ripon Christian's side, the team relied heavily on Max Anderson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that Anderson has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Crivello, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Looking ahead, Orestimba is taking a road trip to square off against Escalon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ripon Christian, they will welcome Weston Ranch at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
