Basketball Recap: Waller Takes a Loss

Waller lost against Bridgeland back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Waller Bulldogs were dealt an 82-43 defeat at the hands of the Bridgeland Bears. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.

Despite the loss, Waller still got an impressive performance from Trinity Prince, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Viviyan Hall, who posted four points and four steals.

Bridgeland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was June Griffin, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on her way to 18 points and three steals. Those 18 points gave Griffin a new career-high. Jordan Martin was another key player, going 6 for 10 en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Waller has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-15 record this season. As for Bridgeland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-12.

Waller has already played their next match (against Langham Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bridgeland will head out on the road to square off against Cypress Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bridgeland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
